Basketball Recap: South Davidson Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for South Davidson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They took down the River Mill Jaguars 55-36 on Saturday.

Kayra Hulin was her usual excellent self, putting up 38 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of South Davidson's points. Anna Smith was another key player, posting nine points.

South Davidson's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8. As for River Mill, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Davidson will venture away from home to take on Asheboro Hybrid Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for River Mill, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the River Mill Jaguars challenge the Triangle Math & Science Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
