Soccer Recap: Brazoswood Takes a Loss

Brazoswood was the 5-1 winner over Deer Park when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Brazoswood Buccaneers fell just short of the Deer Park Deer by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Buccaneers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Deer are ranked 133rd).

Brazoswood's goal came courtesy of Genaro Macedo Jr, who's now up to ten this season.

The defeat snapped Brazoswood's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-2 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Deer Park, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Brazoswood will take on Clear Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brazoswood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season. As for Deer Park, they will square off against Clear Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
