Basketball Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss

Johnson saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell to the LBJ Austin Jaguars 59-55. Johnson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

LBJ Austin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antione Baker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. Baker has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more boards the last three times he's played. Ja Shawn Waters was another key player, putting up 14 points along with six boards and four steals.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for LBJ Austin, their record now sits at 9-13.

Johnson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-48 loss against Del Valle on the 31st. As for LBJ Austin, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northeast Early College at 8:00 p.m. on January 7th.
