Preview: Temple City Rams vs. La Canada Spartans
Temple City is 0-10 against La Canada since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Temple City Rams will look to defend their home court against the La Canada Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Temple City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Monrovia as Temple City made off with a 70-47 victory. The victory was some much needed relief for Temple City as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Cody Lau was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Chung, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, La Canada had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They snuck past San Marino with a 55-50 win.
Temple City's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12. As for La Canada, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Temple City was taken down by La Canada 82-30 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Temple City was down 45-18.
