Baseball Recap: Perry Central's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Perry Central won the last time they faced Tylertown and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Chiefs by a score of 8-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Eli Johnston made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Perry Central is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Johnston was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Austin Jones was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ethan Martin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Perry Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Perry Central's record is now 6-11. As for Tylertown, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Perry Central beat the Chiefs by a score of 17-6 later that day.
