Pineapple Cove Classical Academy extends home losing streak to eight

Recap: Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots vs. Odyssey Charter School Titans

This season hasn't been kind to the Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots, who are still winless after their 13th contest. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Odyssey Charter School on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy in their matchups with Odyssey Charter School: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy saw an underclassman step up: Katherine Siao scored six points along with two blocks.

Leading Odyssey Charter School to victory were Talyssa Hilaire and Natalia DeJesus-Bruno. Hilaire scored nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while DeJesus-Bruno scored 17 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DeJesus-Bruno has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Mayfield, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy bumped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Odyssey Charter School, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy and St. Edward's will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Odyssey Charter School won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pine at 4:00 p.m. on January 12th. Pine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Odyssey Charter School in Florida (Pine is ranked 182nd, while Odyssey Charter School is ranked 606th).
