Softball Recap: American Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

American Leadership Academy was the 19-4 winner over Provo when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Bulldogs on Friday, falling 21-11. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Saydee Carter was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ana Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

American Leadership Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-8. As for Provo, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy will challenge Summit Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Provo, they will take on Orem at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
