Basketball Game Preview: Harman Panthers vs. Tygarts Valley Bulldogs

Harman hasn't had much luck against Tygarts Valley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Harman Panthers will host the Tygarts Valley Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Harman is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season two weeks ago. They had to suffer through a 62-26 loss at the hands of Pendleton County. One positive for the Panthers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Tygarts Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The match between them and Tucker County didn't end well, with Tygarts Valley falling 58-40.

Harman will need to focus on slowing down Sarah Defibaugh, one of several Tygarts Valley players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 11 points. Defibaugh has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Summer Lewis-Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Tygarts Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Harman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Harman took a serious blow against Tygarts Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, falling 59-18. Can Harman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
