Basketball Recap: Westlake Triumphs

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Westlake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past the East Coweta Indians with a 66-62 win. 66 seems to be a good number for the Lions as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rihanna Reams, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Reams has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieara Lugo, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

The win made it two in a row for Westlake and bumps their season record up to 13-8. As for East Coweta, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Douglas County the next time they take the court. East Coweta will host Douglas County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Westlake will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
