Soccer Game Preview: New Manchester vs. South Paulding

New Manchester is 0-9 against South Paulding since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The New Manchester Jaguar will face off against the South Paulding Spartans at 7:30 p.m. New Manchester has given up an average of 7.1 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

New Manchester is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They came up short against East Paulding, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, the Jaguar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Raiders are ranked 128th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, South Paulding made sure to put some goals up on the board against Central on Monday. They blew past the Lions 6-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Spartans' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

South Paulding's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for New Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

New Manchester suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to South Paulding in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can New Manchester avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
