Softball Recap: Encinal Jets vs. Sonoma Valley Dragons
Sonoma Valley hit Encinal with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jets fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 9-8. The Jets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2015.
Sherrielyn Ferrer and Isabella Hernandez did some serious damage despite the final result: Ferrer went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Hernandez went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Encinal will venture away from home to take on Analy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.81 runs per game on average), something the Jets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sonoma Valley, they will square off against Petaluma at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
