Somerset Academy - Canyons put their dominant defense on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They blew past the Atlantic Eagles 40-0. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Somerset Academy - Canyons' victory came down to the chemistry between Ava Wotipka and her top target Delanie Doty. Wotipka threw for 132 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.2% of her passes while Doty picked up 68 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Wotipka also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making one tackle and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Somerset Academy - Canyons didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jazlyne James, Simone Nangle, Brooke Doty, and Wotipka picked up one apiece. Nangle is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as she's now made five or more in each of the last four games she's played. Wotipka got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Somerset Academy - Canyons' win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Atlantic, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Somerset Academy - Canyons will square off against Palm Beach Central at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Somerset Academy - Canyons: 0, Palm Beach Central: 1.8) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Atlantic, they will challenge Boca Raton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Atlantic has given up an average of 31 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
