Basketball Preview: IDEA Frontier College Prep vs. Rio Hondo Bobcats
IDEA Frontier College Prep is 0-4 against the Bobcats since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. IDEA Frontier College Prep will head out on the road to take on the Rio Hondo Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. IDEA Frontier College Prep is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Back in January, IDEA Frontier College Prep took a serious blow against the Bulldogs, falling 69-14. While losing is never fun, IDEA Frontier College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1540th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 694th).
In what's become a running theme this season, Rio Hondo gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Progreso at home to the tune of 72-31.
Rio Hondo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Atkinson, who scored 24 points. Hadassah Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
IDEA Frontier College Prep's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Rio Hondo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
IDEA Frontier College Prep was taken down by the Bobcats 66-13 in their previous matchup back in January. Can IDEA Frontier College Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
