Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Santana

Santana had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured an 18-14 W against the Rancho Bernardo Broncos. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Sultans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Broncos are ranked 461st).

Cameron Udvarhelyi was her usual excellent self, throwing for 184 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 47 yards and one score. Those 47 rushing yards gave her a new career-high.

Santana didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kylee Aziz and Gabby Sneddon.

Santana now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Rancho Bernardo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Santana has already played their next contest, a 52-7 victory against Canyon Hills on the 18th. As for Rancho Bernardo, they will face off against Canyon Crest Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Ravens' defense has only allowed 13.9 points per game this season, so the Broncos' offense will have their work cut out for them.
