Volleyball Recap: Centennial Hawks vs. Los Lunas Tigers
Centennial and Los Lunas squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Centennial had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Tigers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the loss, Centennial still got an impressive performance from Andrea Sedillo, who had 29 digs and two assists. Giovanni Sophia Monroy was another key player, getting 14 digs and two aces.
Los Lunas found their leader in sophomore Makenna Gion, who had 21 digs and two assists. Those 21 digs set a new season-high mark for Gion.
Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Los Lunas, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.
Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Los Lunas, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Albuquerque on the 15th.
