Basketball Game Preview: Adna Pirates vs. Auburn Mountainview Lions

The Adna Pirates and the Auburn Mountainview Lions will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Adna sitting on seven straight wins and Auburn Mountainview on three.

Adna will head into Friday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Onalaska on Friday. Adna blew past Onalaska, posting a 70-37 victory. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Auburn Mountainview). They breezed by Beamer to the tune of 56-29 on Friday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Titans are ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Adna's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Auburn Mountainview, they have also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
