Softball Recap: Newton Triumphs

Newton took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Rockets 7-6 on Saturday.

Newton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-5. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Newton has already played their next matchup (against Boone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, they will take on Davis County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
