Soccer Recap: Midlothian Takes a Loss

Midlothian and Godwin squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Midlothian had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Midlothian came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while Godwin are ranked 27th).

Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-1-4. As for Godwin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3-2.

Midlothian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Godwin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against James River Midlothian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. James River Midlothian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Godwin surely won't give up without a fight.
