Basketball Recap: Homestead's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Homestead was the 41-37 winner over North Miami Beach when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Broncos and the Chargers didn't end well, with the Broncos falling 36-19. The loss put an end to the Broncos' undefeated start to the season.

North Miami Beach got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Serena Volcy out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Volcy also grabbed six steals, which is notable because the Chargers are undefeated when she posts at least five steals, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Volcy, who posted six points in addition to nine boards and eight steals.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for North Miami Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Homestead will square off against Braddock at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Miami Beach, they will welcome Coral Gables at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
