Luxemburg-Casco and Freedom are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Luxemburg-Casco barely beat St. Mary Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Zephyrs a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Noah Chervenka tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Reagan Doell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Gage Delcore also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Luxemburg-Casco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Freedom had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Hornets.

Luxemburg-Casco has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Freedom, their record is now 7-10.

Luxemburg-Casco came out on top in a nail-biter against Freedom when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Irish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
