Basketball Recap: Dunnellon Comes Up Short

Dunnellon has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Milford Eagles on Friday, falling 70-27. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading Milford to victory were Violet Shuluga and Gabby Chadwell. Shuluga went 10 for 12 on her way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Chadwell made all 6 shots she took to post 16 points and three steals. Chadwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Chadwell, who posted eight points.

Dunnellon's record now sits at 7-3. As for Milford, their record now sits at 5-2.

Dunnellon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 40-28 loss against Wesley Chapel on the 28th. As for Milford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-26 victory against Clearwater on the 28th.
