Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mountain House last Thursday, Liberty came back down to earth. The Liberty Lions took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dublin Gaels on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Liberty got a good showing from Jake Farr, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Farr has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Liberty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trace Hoover, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Dublin, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Liberty will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Castro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on March 21st. As for Dublin, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Wilcox on the 15th.
