Volleyball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Goldbacks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 1-12-1. As for Newburgh Free Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Middletown will challenge Washingtonville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newburgh Free Academy, they will face off against Cornwall Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
