Softball Recap: New Haven Rockets vs. Marine City Mariners
New Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 15-1 to the Marine City Mariners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in April.
New Haven saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerikah Bowman Class 2026, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
New Haven's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Marine City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Haven will welcome L'Anse Creuse at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Marine City, they will host Grosse Pointe South at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
