Football Game Preview: Herbert Hoover Huskies vs. Ripley Vikings

The Herbert Hoover Huskies will challenge the Ripley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Herbert Hoover has five straight wins, Ripley has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Herbert Hoover humbled South Charleston with a 48-6 victory. Considering the Huskies have won four games by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Ripley was beaten by Winfield 58-21 on Friday.

Herbert Hoover will have to contain Cody Lawrence as he made an impact in Ripley's last game. He rushed for 163 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Kyler Fisher also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.

Herbert Hoover's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Ripley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Herbert Hoover against Ripley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-28 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Vikings' Tyson Pritt, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 74 yards and one TD.
