Volleyball Recap: Purchase Line Falls Despite Big Games from Kaitlyn Houser and Rylee Adams + How To Watch

After flying high against United on Tuesday, Purchase Line came back down to earth. The Red Dragons fell just short of the Northern Cambria Colts by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. If the Red Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Colts when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Purchase Line wouldn't go down easily and took Northern Cambria into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 25-17, 15-25, 15-11.

Purchase Line's loss came despite strong showings from Rylee Adams and Kaitlyn Houser. Adams had 23 digs, while Houser had 14 digs and two aces.

Maddie Work was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 13 digs and two aces. Those 13 digs gave her a new career-high. Ciara McCracken also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

With the loss, Purchase Line broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 8-3. As for Northern Cambria, they pushed their record up to 9-7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Purchase Line didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against West Branch on the 29th. As for Northern Cambria, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Penns Manor on the 30th.
