Baseball Recap: Prospect's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Prospect's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 9-4 to the Schaumburg Saxons. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saxons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Prospect got a good showing from Nathan Kurtz, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Kurtz has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Prospect saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another was Aiden Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Prospect's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10-1. As for Schaumburg, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-22.

Coming up, Prospect will welcome York at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Schaumburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
