Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Mulhall-Orlando's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Mulhall-Orlando had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Butner on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Eagles 13-1. Considering the Panthers have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Denver McKay, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two triples. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Preston Doty was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mulhall-Orlando has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Butner, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Coming up, Mulhall-Orlando will challenge Covington-Douglas at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Butner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
