Basketball Recap: Whittell Takes a Loss

Whittell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by the Smith Valley Bulldogs 71-14. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-23 back in January.

Despite the loss, Whittell still got an impressive performance from Rocky Laremore, who posted seven points along with ten boards and three steals. Laremore has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 16 times he's played.

Whittell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Smith Valley, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mineral County the next time they take the court. Whittell will head out to face Mineral County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Smith Valley will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
