They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Nicholas County Bluejackets. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Taylor Gaines made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching eight innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Gaines was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Molly Hanson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Sadie Dungan was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Frankfort's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Nicholas County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
