Hampden hadn't done well against Mount Desert Island recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Broncos walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Broncos: when they faced off against the Trojans back in September, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

The win didn't come easy: Mount Desert Island scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 13-25, 25-20, 29-27.

Lilianne Montgomery-Rice paced Hampden's offense, picking up nine kills. Montgomery-Rice got some help from Daniella Madore and her 16 assists. Katelyn Adams controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

The victory made it two in a row for Hampden and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Mount Desert Island, they moved to 6-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hampden will head out to face off against Cony at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount Desert Island, they will venture away from home to take on Brewer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
