Softball Recap: Beekmantown Comes Up Short

Beekmantown easily dispatched Moriah two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Eagles fell just short of the Northeastern Clinton Cougars by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.

Lillian Perry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Beekmantown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katharine Jewell, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Beekmantown's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Northeastern Clinton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Beekmantown has already played their next matchup, a 12-6 victory against Plattsburgh on the 29th. Northeastern Clinton has also already played their next contest (against Saranac Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
