Soccer Game Preview: Uvalde vs. Hondo

The Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) will take on the Hondo Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Uvalde will be strutting in after a victory while Hondo will be coming in after a loss.

Uvalde took a loss when they played away from home back in January, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Pleasanton.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hondo's offense. They came up short against Floresville on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Tigers/Jaguars: they've now lost five in a row.

Uvalde's victory bumped their record up to 3-5-1. As for Hondo, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7-2.

Uvalde beat Hondo by a goal in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 1-0. Does Uvalde have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hondo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
