Basketball Game Preview: Northridge Polar Bears vs. Dunbar Wolverines

The Northridge Polar Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Dunbar Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Dunbar likes a good challenge.

Northridge saw some tournament action on Friday. They blew past Northwestern, posting a 75-34 victory. The Polar Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Ja'Ydann Martin had a dynamite game for Northridge, going 17-for-22 on his way to 31 points and five assists. Keonte Smith was another key player, going 8-for-12 en route to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Dunbar made easy work of Eaton on Friday and carried off a 68-43 win. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Eagles are ranked 637th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northridge is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. The victory made it two in a row for Dunbar and bumps their season record up to 14-9.
