Baseball Recap: Pope John Paul II Find Success

Pope John Paul II hadn't done well against Owen J. Roberts recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Pope John Paul II had just enough and edged out Owen J. Roberts 5-3. Surprisingly, this marked Pope John Paul II's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Tyler Timdall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blaise Desanto, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Pope John Paul II's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
