Soccer Game Preview: Tate vs. Gulf Breeze

Tate is 0-6 against Gulf Breeze since January of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Tate Aggies will head out to square off against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 7:30 p.m. Tate will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Tate sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over West Florida. The win was all the more spectacular given the Aggies' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Jaguars are ranked 46th).

Tyler Clarke and Justin Bolden scored both of Tate's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Gulf Breeze was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Booker T. Washington, falling 7-0.

Tate pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five contests. As for Gulf Breeze, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-2.

Tate came up short against Gulf Breeze when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 5-3. Can Tate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
