Brandeis was the 2-1 winner over Cypress Woods when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Broncos took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Friday. The Broncos' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Brandeis ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18.

Brandeis lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Samantha Blazquez, who had eight digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Brandeis now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Cypress Woods, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Brandeis will face off against Grand Oaks at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cypress Woods, they will challenge Stratford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
