Softball Game Preview: Leonard Tigers vs. Blue Ridge Tigers

Leonard hasn't had much luck against Blue Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Friday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Leonard will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Leonard is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Howe on Tuesday, falling 19-13.

Lauren Pemberton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two triples, and four RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Prather, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and three runs.

Even though they lost, Leonard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Blue Ridge's offense. They lost 16-0 to S & S Consolidated on Tuesday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Leonard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Leonard might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Blue Ridge when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Leonard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
