Volleyball Game Preview: Orem Tigers vs. Uintah Utes

Orem is 9-1 against Uintah since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will take on the Utes at 3:30 p.m. Orem is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Orem is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Herriman, who was ranked 25th at the time (Orem was ranked fourth). The Tigers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mustangs last Wednesday.

The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 25-16, 25-18.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Uintah had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 22-25, 25-16.

Orem better focus on containing Abbie Davis and Autumn Edwards as the pair were huge in Uintah's win. Davis had eight digs and two aces, while Edwards had 20 digs and two assists. What's more, Davis racked up 43 assists, the most she's had since back in August.

Uintah's victory bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Orem, their win bumped their record up to 25-3.

Orem took their victory against Uintah in their previous meeting on October 2nd by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Utes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
