Piedmont put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Weaver Bearcats, posting a 69-21 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-7.
Nick Mixson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Rollie Pinto was in the mix as well, providing Piedmont with two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Piedmont was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Piedmont, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Mixson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
