Softball Recap: Dixon Comes Up Short

Dixon dropped their record down to 7-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Genoa-Kingston Cogs, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Dukes & Duchesses' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Dixon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Tegeler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Genoa-Kingston, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-11-1 record. Considering they have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Genoa-Kingston's side, the result came thanks to Elizabeth Davis's shutout, as she gave up just four hits.

At the plate, Olivia Vasak was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Brooklynn Ordlock was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dixon is set to challenge their familiar foe Winnebago at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Genoa-Kingston will take on rival North Boone at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
