Football Game Preview: Lehman Catholic Cavaliers vs. Covington Buccs

Lehman Catholic has gone a perfect 5-0 against Covington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cavaliers will take on the Buccs at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Lehman Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

On Saturday, Lehman Catholic earned a 38-31 win over Riverside. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Turner Lachey was his usual excellent self, throwing for 376 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 105 yards. Those 105 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Lehman Catholic's leading receiver Evan O'Leary was Lachey's top target yet again, picking up 175 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, Covington's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 win over Milton-Union.

Covington now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lehman Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Everything came up roses for Lehman Catholic against Covington in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 35-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
