Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. South Summit Wildcats

The Hillcrest Huskies will challenge the South Summit Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. South Summit took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hillcrest, who comes in off a win.

Hillcrest is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Judge Memorial Catholic by a score of 11-6 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Huskies considering their one-run performance the game before.

Max Cannon was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-5. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Roman Wolf, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Cannon wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, South Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 22-4 to Delta.

South Summit saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Mair, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Hillcrest's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for South Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
