Basketball Recap: Wood River Takes a Loss

Wood River was the 47-39 winner over Caldwell when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Wood River Wolverines were outmatched by the Caldwell Cougars and fell 67-39. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt Crego, who posted seven points. Dylan Schubert was another key player, putting up six points.

Wood River's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Caldwell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Wood River and Buhl will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Caldwell, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Caldwell Cougars face off against the Mountain Home Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Caldwell is facing Mountain Home at the right time seeing as Mountain Home is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
