Volleyball Game Preview: Girard Indians vs. Rootstown Rovers

After both having extra time off, the Girard Indians and the Rootstown Rovers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Girard lost 3-0 to Crestview on Thursday. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

While Girard was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Crestview's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10, 25-13.

Kirtland came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Rootstown, but Addie Biggin wouldn't allow it. The Rovers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hornets on Thursday thanks in part to Biggin, who had 20 digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 11 times she's played.

Rootstown never let Kirtland on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.

Girard's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Rootstown, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
