Softball Game Preview: Saucon Valley Panthers vs. Louis E. Dieruff Huskies

The Saucon Valley Panthers will challenge the Louis E. Dieruff Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Saucon Valley has three straight wins, Louis E. Dieruff has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Saucon Valley will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Northern Lehigh, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Panthers walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Matty Seyfried spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ryan Gall was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Allentown Central Catholic hit Louis E. Dieruff with a ten-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Huskies came up short against the Vikings, falling 15-2.

Louis E. Dieruff's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Saucon Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
