Basketball Recap: Jordan Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Jordan had won seven straight games and Rivers Knight did his part to make it eight on Tuesday. The Jordan Falcons came out on top against the Durham Academy Cavaliers by a score of 78-70 thanks in part to Knight, who went 12 for 17 on his way to 27 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Derek Ross Jr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten assists. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more assists the last three times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Durham Academy lost, don't look at JJ Wilcox. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 12 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. What's more, Wilcox also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Joe Ruth was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Jordan pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Durham Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.

Jordan is taking a road trip to challenge Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Jordan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Durham Academy, they will host Ravenscroft at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Durham Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
