Soccer Game Preview: Athens vs. Maine-Endwell

The Athens Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Maine-Endwell Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Athens' defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Maine-Endwell's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Athens and Wellsboro finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Maine-Endwell put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They never let Binghamton get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Maine-Endwell might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by three goals or more this season.

Maine-Endwell's victory bumped their record up to 9-0-1. Athens' draw makes their record 8-1-2 this season.

Athens might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Maine-Endwell in their previous matchup back in September of 2021. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
