Boyd County took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the North Central Knights. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Boyd County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 28-26, 25-20, 25-22.

North Central's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Boyd County will be taking part in a tournament against Boone Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Central, they will challenge West Holt on Thursday.
