Baseball Recap: Medina Makes It 13 in a Row at Home

Medina is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Maryvale on Saturday, but Maryvale came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Mustangs came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Flyers. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 12-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lucas Grimes tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Carter Woodworth was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Camden Fike also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Medina pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Maryvale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.

Medina wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Akron on the 28th. As for Maryvale, they have also already played their next game, a 5-1 win against Cheektowaga on the 30th.
